Private Retreats Allow Guests to Get Away for Prayer and Renewal

Looking for a getaway for a smaller group or maybe even just you? The St. Joseph Retreat & Conference Center features two retreat homes for small, privately led retreats. We furnish the lodging and campus, you create the programming and meals.

The Nazareth House Bungalow is fully-furnished, air-conditioned and suited for individuals or small groups of five to six guests. There are five guest rooms (three full and two twin), four baths, a fully-equipped kitchen and dining table, spacious sitting room, a screened-in front porch, and a humble chapel.

For four guests or less: $200 for the first night; $150 for the second night and beyond
For five guests: $250 for the first night; $200 for the second night and beyond
For six guests: $300 for the first night; $250 for the second night and beyond

The St. John of the Cross Cabin is fully-furnished, air-conditioned and suited for one to two guests seeking individual retreats with more solitude. Here we offer two rooms with full-size beds and private baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, a large living space with fireplace, covered front and back porches, and private parking. Nestled among trees at the back of our 40-acre property, the secluded, Montana-style log cabin was built in 1989 by an anonymous donor. The cabin is wheelchair accessible.

Each home features a kitchen where guests may prepare meals and snacks. Bedding, linens and towels are provided as well. Neither home features television, telephones or WiFi. During a private retreat in one of our homes, you would have access to our outdoor campus including stations of the cross, grottos, labyrinth, statues and shrines. Under most circumstances, you would not have access to our main building.

Our homes are also available for rental when visiting family and friends in the Tipton area. It is important to note that our campus is a holy place where faith has been formed since 1904. Our campus and facilities must be treated with the same respect one would a church.

Another private retreat option is to spend a weekday at our facility. For $20, guests may enjoy our campus from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Visitors have access to our chapel, the library and gathering spaces as well as our campus of shrines, statues, stations of the cross and labyrinth. For an additional $20 you may have a private room on the third floor for the day. Under most circumstances, lunch would not be provided nor is a kitchen available. You may bring lunch and snacks with you or follow this link to see what the surrounding area has to offer here. While we do not offer regularly scheduled daily or weekend mass at our facility, guests may attend services at St. John the Baptist in Tipton.

Our Spiritual Director Fr. David Huemmer can help round out the programming for your private retreat. Fr. Huemmer may offer spiritual services including the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a Holy Hour with Adoration and Benediction, Spiritual Direction Meetings and/or Mass. Guests should reach out to Fr. SoulCore is an invitation to integrate body & soul in prayer, fully orienting the heart & mind toward Christ, while discovering the beauty of the rosary.
